About the Student Government Association

What do we do?

The purpose of the Student Government Association is to consider issues and to formulate policies in areas primarily or exclusively involving the student body. Such areas shall include, but not be limited to, matters of social, academic and co-curricular policies. These activities occur at the association’s weekly meetings. The association also seeks to provide extended channels of communication, increased areas of cooperation and a greater acceptance of shared responsibility between faculty, administration and the student body in matters of general and academic interests. The assembly is comprised of 23 House Senators, 4 Class Presidents, 10 Executive Board members, and a Student Activities Council Rep.

What is the Executive Board?

What do they do?

The Executive Board consists of 12 members, each with their own specific tasks and responsibilities. They are each elected into office by the Student Body and serve for the duration of the academic year. Furthermore, the Executive Board helps to facilitate relationships and discussions between Faculty, Staff, and the Board of Trustees. Purpose

The Executive Board serves as the main liaisons between the Student Body and other interest groups across the greater Conn community. Furthermore, the Executive Board is the main body that participates in the College’s commitment towards Shared Governance. The College is “committed to a system of governance in which the perspectives of all groups are considered in the institution’s decision-making process.” It is the goal of the Executive Board to act as the greater Student Body’s voice in decision making.
